Developed as part of our renowned Haynes Cardiovascular Institute, our newly expanded electrophysiology program treats the full spectrum of heart rate abnormalities, from Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) to Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome. Our highly personalized approach factors in your condition, age, lifestyle, general health, and personal preferences.
As early adopters of some of the most innovative procedures, our experts were first in the Bay Area to:
In order to offer our patients the benefits of leading-edge technologies and electrophysiology interventions, we participate in a variety of clinical trials. This means the best of both worlds–the sophisticated care you might expect from an academic hospital and the convenience and personalized approach of your community hospital.
We offer a full range of services, including arrhythmia management, placement of the WATCHMAN™ Implant, lead extraction, catheter ablation, remote monitoring, and the implantation of cardiac devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders. We also implant devices prescribed for heart failure patients. The Impella® left ventricular assist boosts the heart’s pumping activity, while the CardioMEMS device allows our team to monitor a patient’s heart failure symptoms remotely to help prevent hospitalization.
Thanks to its decades-long reputation for excellence in cardiology, MarinHealth has attracted superb heart experts from every subspecialty. This means you can get all your cardiovascular care from a single source, right here in Marin. Our highly collaborative experts are in close communication and routinely work together, providing seamless care across all heart specialties. In fact, our program allows for an intraoperative procedure for AFib that is rarely available outside of a university hospital settling. We are proud to have earned recognition for quality and outcomes—see our key awards below!
MarinHealth Medical Center is one of the Bay Area’s highest volume centers for ablation. We consistently exceed national benchmarks in patient satisfaction in both the outpatient and post-ablation experience. MarinHealth’s recurrence and complication rates are comparable to or lower than the national average. Our range of options, level of expertise, and consistent outcomes make us a destination for patients around the Bay Area. See what some of our patients have to say, below.
Located in MarinHealth Medical Center’s all-new Oak Pavilion, our multiplatform procedural area was designed from scratch, based on input from our experts. The new space is equipped with the latest technologies, which require a very limited amount of fluoroscopy, greatly reducing radiation exposure. Our heart mapping equipment is top of the line. Imaging is enhanced through the use of a biplane double camera, enabling our team to perform procedures with unparalleled accuracy. The new facility is spacious enough to accommodate the larger teams needed for procedures requiring collaboration with structural heart specialists and open-heart surgeons.
Dr. Sujoya Dey specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiac arrhythmia. Her clinical expertise includes the implantation of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators to treat congestive heart failure and prevent sudden cardiac death. She also has extensive experience in performing catheter ablation for AFib. In addition to patient care, Dr. Dey has a strong interest in research and participates in a variety of clinical trials.
Dr. Vivek Iyer specializes in the management of complex cardiac arrhythmia and advanced ablation techniques. He has a special clinical interest in ventricular tachycardia and AFib management, including the use of catheter ablation, epicardial access techniques, ablation supported by LVAD/percutaneous LVAD, advanced mapping technologies, and percutaneous left atrial appendage occlusion. He is well versed in all aspects of modern cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator device implantation and management. In addition, he is happy to provide judicious electrophysiology consultation as well as second opinions regarding management of arrhythmia.
“A1 All around!!! Excellent, smooth, expedient, painless and quick! Totally positive experience!”
“This cardio practice is successful at making patients feel closely observed. My case has had extensive diagnostics. I have been included in decisions about whether to pursue more diagnostics. I've been reassured."
